On May 24, 2006, a concert devoted to the 88th anniversary of establishment of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was held in Budapest within the framework of Azerbaijani culture days, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary informed Trend.
The event was held at the prestigious concert hall in Budapest Belvar Jdinhas. A large number of representatives of state and social bodies of Hungary took part in the event.
According to the Azerbaijani Embassy, a mugam concert was held in Budapest. Azerbaijani mugam masters Azerbaijani popular artist Agakhan Abdullayev and Nazakat Teymurova performed in the mugam concert. They were observed by Firuz Aliyev in tar (national Azerbaijan music tool) and by Ismail Gadimov in kamancha. An Azerbaijani national dance tarakama was performed.
Hasan Hasanov, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Hungary, Dayanat Abdullayev, the chief of State Committee on Azerbaijanis Living Abroad, and members of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Budapest also participated in the concert.
