Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received on 25 May the Executive Director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), Noeleen Heyzer, Trend reports.
During the talks Heyzer noted that Azerbaijan is the first CIS country that she visited. Underlining that Azerbaijan in an important period UNIFEM Executive Director congratulated the head of state with high growth pace of economic development. She in particular emphasized the necessity of directing the profits at the increase of welfare of the nation.
The head of state also stressed the importance of the issue, underlining the economic development of Azerbaijan, in particular, the social and humanitarian spheres.
President Aliyev noted the successful implementation of some programs, in the different spheres such as education, health, as well as regional programs for the welfare of Azerbaijani people.
