The repeat, additional and new elections will be held in several municipalities of Azerbaijan on October 6, 2006, Mazahir Panahov, the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC), at the meeting of CEC on June 7, Trend reports.
According to Panahov, in general the election will be held in 604 municipalities including additional 141 bodies of self-government. 1941 municipality members will be elected. The election will cover 83 districts. Due to the participation of the internally displaced persons in the elections, additional poling stations will function, told Panahov.
The meeting discussed the calendar the plan of measures and action of the municipal elections, the creation of initiative group of voters, the instruction on nomination of individual persons or initiative group of voters, or parties and blocks.
