Azerbaijan might open shopping center in Lithuania  Azeri Minister

Last year the goods turnover between Azerbaijan and Lithuania made up $7m and it cannot suit the sides, Heydar Babayev, the Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development, told the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian business forum. However, the factor testifies that the trade relationships between the two countries have great potential, he underlined. In particular, it can be increased at the expense of investment company established in Azerbaijan.

Babayev said that Lithuania has large potential in the agrarian sector and refinery of agriculture production. During the talks the sides defined some spheres of mutual interest and goods that Azerbaijan delivers to Lithuania. Besides, the opportunities for opening of shopping center of Azerbaijan in Lithuania, the minister underlined.

Moreover, Lithuania is very much interested in the energy resources. This country has great demand in fuel for the development of industry and other spheres of economy. Perhaps, Azerbaijan will participate in the several infrastructure projects, in particular in delivery of oil products and their trading.

However, the Azerbaijani goods should meet the necessary standards of the European Union, as Lithuania enters this organization. At present Azerbaijan has set up work over quality, standards, certification of goods.
