8th int'l security congress due in Istanbul

The 8th international security congress on Democratization and Security in the Black Sea Region will be held in Istanbul on 29-30 June 2006. The supporters to the event are Marshall Fund, NATOs Public Diplomacy Department, Frederick Bauman Fund and the Public Foundation Movement for Participation and Development ARI.

Azerbaijan will be represented by the head of the Department for Political Researches of the Azerbaijani Presidents Executive Power, Fuad Akhundov, and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Turkey, Zakir Hashimov.

Attending the gathering will be the Georgian Deputy Premier and State Minister for Europe and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Georgiy Baramidze, the US Ambassador to Turkey, Ross Wilson, Assistant Head of the Department at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rafet Akgun, US Assistant Secretary of State, Matthew Bryza, the European Union Special Representative for South Caucasus, Peter Semneby, former Secretary General of the Back Sea Economic Cooperation, Tedo Japaridze.

The event is sponsored by a group of DoДџuЕџ, BP, Petrol Ofisi, Г‡alД±k Holding, ATS, the General Consulates of the United States and the Netherlands in Istanbul.
