Work over establishment of special economic zone on development high technologies in Azerbaijan will be set up by the end of the year, Trend reports citing Ali Abbasov, the Azerbaijani Minister for Communications and Information Technologies.
The Ministry announced a tender on the selection of a consulting company, which will render services establishment of special economic zone in Azerbaijan. The winner is committed to carry out analysis of the state of the high technologies sector in Azerbaijan and define the expediency of establishment of special high technologies, analysis of positive and negative aspects of such a structure, determine its impact on the development of the sector and general development of the countrys economy, and establishment of legal base.
The Minister underlined that a victorious company will set up work over the project from September 2006.
The project envisages several major directions production and export of electron product to Azerbaijan, establishment of transit information sphere, creation of techno-parks, information infrastructure.
Insufficiency in the number of qualified specialists can considerably hinder the successful outcome of the process. In this respect presence of local professionals in the IT sphere is more important, the Minister concluded.
