Georgia to hold talks on Baku-Akhalkalaki-Kars route in Baku  Georgian Minister for Economic Development

Major topic of discussions to be held in Baku will be increase of the Georgias share of gas to be produced from Shah Deniz field and the construction of the Baku-Akhalkalaki-Kars railway route, the Georgian Minister for Economic Development, Irakliy Chogovadze, stated on 5 July prior to his flight to Baku.

He is member of the delegation led by Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli.

We attach great importance to this railway project and during the visit we will summarize the discussions held in Baku and Tbilisi, he underscored.

The Minister underlined that during the talks in Baku the further ways that will condition project should be clearly defined. Georgia is interested in the implementation of this project and will take its utmost in this respect, Chogovadze said.
