Heydar Aliyev Fund started a new program in education sphere. Trend reports the program beginning to have been the todays ceremony of passing Azerbaijans universities nearly 5,000 books printed in Russia.
At the ceremony, MP Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Fund UNESCO Good Will Ambassador, said one of the Funds activities is support to the education system in Azerbaijan, including material support.
Among the programs implemented by the Fund, Aliyeva named such as В"New Schools to Rejuvenated AzerbaijanВ", В"Assistance to EducationВ" and so, which covered building 132 schools and future commissioning of 50 schools by the new academic year and overhaul of 23 boarding schools.
В"Today we launched the new program aimed at providing the libraries with various textbooks, teaching aids and supplementary literature В", she said.
The books cover such spheres as policy, economics, health protection, pedagogy, culture, art, architecture, tourism, sports, IT, automation, criminology, finances, journalism and so. They will be passed to 14 universities of Azerbaijan.
President of Fund said teaching aids of many universities have gone outdated so far and do not meet todays requirements. Mehriban Aliyeva also performed with proposal to translate the passed textbooks into Azeri and unify curriculums.
In her opinion, textbooks on such subjects as В"Azeri language and literatureВ", В"HistoryВ", В"GeorgraphyВ" shall be developed with account for national features. Aliyeva stated her readiness to render any help to universities in this field; the Fund is undertaking preparation of textbooks for boarding schools for disabled children, Aliyeva outlined.
By the end of 2006, the Fund plans also to arrange the exhibition of academic literature issued in French, German and English.
At the ceremony were also speaking rectors of Baku State University, Medical University, Economic University and so. They highly appraised the service of Heydar Aliyev Fund and personally its president Mehriban Aliyeva in supporting the development of science, medicine, culture, art, as well as preservation of national and spiritual values and modernization of Azerbaijans education system.
