NATO week ends in Baku

NATO week came to an end in Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Tend.

Under the week Baku hosted a session of NATO International School in Azerbaijan (NATO - NISA) with the participation of around 70 representatives of CEAP (Council of Euro-Atlantic Partnership. Students, young scientists, representatives of non-governmental organizations, NATO experts, Professor of the U.S. National Defense University, as well as Ambassadors of CEAP countries and senior officials of Azerbaijan were in attendance. Jean Furne, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, attended the event.

Within the framework of week there was held a symposium on the MГ©lange project (termination of a missile fuel left in Azerbaijan from Soviet period) and open a factory on utilization of fuel in Alat village. Attending the events were experts from the countries that faced with similar problems, in particular, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Georgia.

Moreover, a working seminar on struggle with terror under the NATO /CEAP with the participation of 59 experts from 31 countries, as well as chief of the NATO Department for Defense Policy and Planning, George Katsirdakis, Brigade General of the International Military Headquarters, Klausen.
