Film director Rasim Ojagov was one of the masters of XX century who possess a great role in the development of Azerbaijani people, Elchin Afandiyev, the deputy prime minister, peoples writer, told Trend.

The death of Ojagov was a loss not only for the cinematograph and culture of Azerbaijan, but also for our modern history. Because, he achieved a large scale of creative work. It is true that Ojagov was speaking in film language, but with the help of this language, he showed and propagated the history and mentality of Azerbaijan, especially typical quality of Azerbaijanis, told Afandiyev.

The vise-primer noted that although he didnt work with Ojagov on his works as a film director, he saw Ojagovs films, and the film director red Afandiyevs works.

We had very warm relations. I am very sorrowful that he passed away, but I consider that he was a happy master. Rasim Ojagov was a peoples artist, honour cultural worker, laureate of state prizes and received the president pension. He received all honorable ranks necessary for master. Besides, he gained the love of audience. Therefore, he was a happy master. I think that 15-year independence history of Azerbaijan was the happiest years in Ojagovs life. Because, the independence of Azerbaijan became important for him both from material and moral standpoint, told deputy primer minister.

Besides, Afandiyev stressed that Ojagov left a proper track in the sphere of cinematograph. Each great master has learners and followers. Rasim Ojagov was a master who was loved by the people and appreciated by the state. I am sure that deceased Heydar Aliyev respected Ojagov and took care about him, Afandiyev stressed.
