The conference brought together the government representatives, deputies, construction specialists and representatives of relevant government bodies.

The chairman of DRP Asim Mollazade noted that this scientific-practical conference is the next main part of the conference held on topic General plan of Baku city and prospects of development of city-building in Baku. He noted that as a result of the last conference, a working group has been created and appeals were forwarded to the state head, prime minister and speaker of parliament so that they consider the problems that are of concern for people. Mollazade properly mentioned the necessity of turning Baku into a city of world level.

Emil Akhundov, specialist- architect, spoke about the general plan of Baku and construction of new multi-floored buildings. He toted that the Center of Seismological Service dont give permission for the construction of buildings. The executive power of Baku doesnt pay necessary attention to the preparation of the seismological map of Baku. The construction materials are sold without certification. It is a crime, Akhundov told.

The doctor of geological-mineral sciences Adishirin Alakbarov noted that there are differences in the geological structure of Baku, and the oil regions and cement plants have a negative impact on the atmosphere and water. According to Alakbarov, annually 185 substances of different composition are liquidated in Absheron peninsula. Over past 20 years, the groundwater has increased by about 20-22 meters. The specialist noted that while preparing the general plan of Baku, it needs to take into consideration the volcanoes and seismological process.
