On 25 July the Georgian parliament ratified a Charter of the international organization Organization for Democracy and Economic Development GUAM. The document was adopted unilaterally by a support of 120 MPs, Trend special correspondent in Tbilisi reports.
Founded in a summit of heads of states of GUAM, a regional organization among Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova Georgia, in Kiev on 22-23 May 2006 the organization unites Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova. The key task of the organization is the establishment of democratic values, consolidation of international and regional security, deepening of European integration. The secretary general of the organization with headquarters in Kiev is elected every 5 years.
