Up to now the central Election Commission did not receive any applications from local or international observers wishing to monitor 6 October municipal elections, Trend reports with reference to CEC.
Irada Hajiyeva, chief of legal department with CEC, which registers local observers, said the department had not received any applications to date, adding that quoting, since registration ends 10 days before the voting, observers are not hurrying to submit their applications.
Rovzat Gasimov, chief of foreign relations with CEC, said there had been no applications submitted to the commission from any international organizations or states. He also said it is expected that international and foreign organizations CEC is collaborating with will partake in elections as observers.
