It needs to resolve the religious problems in accordance with the modern requirements, Ramiz Mehdiyev, the head of Azerbaijani Presidents Executive Office, told journalists, commenting on the yesterdays order of Azerbaijani president appointing the former advisor for national minorities Hidayat Orujov the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations,Trend reports with reference to ANS TV.
According to Mehdiyev, it doesnt deal with the solution of the problems through administrative ways. The State Committee should assist the state in organizing the works with religious organizations, and this activity should be realized in accordance with the requirements of Azerbaijan Constitution, Mehdiyev emphasized. I think that appointing the new chairman for State Committee who has a great experience and successfully fulfills his responsibilities is an accurate and sensible step, Mehdiyev added. According to Mehdiyev, Orujov has an approach to the problems from the position of the state, law and constitution and he will justify the confidence of the president.
Orujov has been holding the position of state advisor for national minorities since 1992. But yesterday, according to the order of Azerbaijan president, he was appointed the chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan.
