DYNAMICS OF CHANGES IN SOME ECONOMIC SEGMENTS

Oil market

Oil prices beat a record. The week stated with considerable rise in oil prices. Thus, the prices of oil futures rose $1 per barrel and attained the highest point of the week, though the first half of trading sessions were held in low rates.

Results of trading sessions at exchanges for nearest futures contracts were as follows on 24 July:

- at New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) official futures prices of Light, Sweet Crude Oil (July) rose 62 cents (+0.8%) and was set at the point of $75.05 per barrel at the price of ranging from $73.50-$75.20 per barrel;

- at London-based InterContinental Exchange Futures (IРЎE Futures) official price of IPE e-Brent Crude Futures Electronic (July) rose 86 cents (+1.2%) and got fixed at $74.61 per barrel at prices ranging from $72.78 to $74.75 per barrel.

Currency market

As a result of the last week official rate of manat in regard to US dollar, set by the National Bank of Azerbaijan grew 0,0019 point or 0.19%. Average rate was established as 0.88976 manats per 1 US dollar, Trend reports.

Last week maximum rate of US dollar in respect to manat was established on 17 July (0.8907 manats per 1 US dollar), minimum 21 July (0.8888 manats per US dollar)

As of results of the last week exchange rates of Azerbaijani manat in regard to US dollar, established on the base of results of the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BICEX) increased by 0,0016 point or 0.16%. Average rate was fixed as 0.88886 manats per US dollar.

Last week maximum rate of US dollar in respect to manat was established on 17 July (0.8896 manats per 1 US dollar), minimum 21 July (0.8880 manats per US dollar).

Deals concluded last week at BEST with transition to currency (T+0) comprised $1.55m with average sustained exchange rate of 8896m AZN/USD on 17 July, $9.927m with average sustained exchange rate of 8890m AZN/USD on 18 July, $7.29m with average sustained rate of 0,8889 AZN/USD on 19 July, $11.05m with average sustained rate of 0,8888 AZN/USD on 20 July and $8.67m with the rate of 0,8880 AZN/USD on 7 July.

No deal was concluded with Russian ruble last week due to absence of appeals.

Only one deal was concluded with EUR/AZN instrument (T+1) on 18 July in the amount of 34,000 EURO. Rate of EURO was 1,1158 AZN.

In this period prices of vouchers were stable and comprised 80,000 old manats (15 AZN).
