Poti-Baku-Aktau-Almati container train operation is resumed in August, Trend s special correspondent reports from Astana quoting Azeri Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov, speaking at the session of transport ministers of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and China.
В"We consider this project as increasing cargo transportations along the corridor. In 1996 the EU initiated this communication under РўRACECA, but unfortunately it was not implemented. However, today the parties are eager to restore this project, increase cargos turnover and involve other participantsВ", said Mammadov.
Today Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan are examining the train route projection to Dostik station near Chinese border. The uniform tariff in 22 cent/ton-km is used for this line.
The train was launched December 24. This train is purposed to attract shippers from China and Europe.
