Azadlig Party (Freedom) will not participate in the municipal elections, the chairman of party Ahmad Oruj told Trend.
He noted that Azadlig Party decided not to participate in the municipal elections, but there is no prohibition for the members of party to individually take part in the elections. Several members of party participate in the elections without party. According to Oruj, the party considers senseless to participate in the municipal elections. In these elections, the municipalities are appointed by the local executive powers. Therefore, participating in the elections assumes no importance, taking into consideration the results that are clear beforehand. I dont welcome the participation of several opposition parties in the elections. I am not sure that opposition will gain a place during the elections, Orujov added.
According to Orujov, after the parliamentary elections of last year, the situation related with the opportunities and victory possibilities of opposition became worse.
