On August 4, a meeting was held in Nardaran (settlement of Baku city) against the action of Israel in Lebanon. The official action brought together the local residents, members of Azerbaijan Islamic Party (AIP), representatives of local and foreign mass media, as well as the representatives of international organizations and embassies, Trend reports.
During the meeting held in the central square of Nardaran, Imam Huseyin delivered a speech condemning the aggression of Israel against Lebanon, as well as Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan. The military aggression against Lebanon and rude violation of rights were called by the meeting participants Fascism of XXI century. Besides, the Nardaran population voiced their solidarity with Lebanon and required Azerbaijan government to openly express attitude towards the conflict.
In their opinion, in case of continuation of the aggression against Lebanon, the Azerbaijani government should break the relations with Israel and a new meeting will be held in Nardaran.
A resolution was passed at the end of two-hour meeting. The document reflects analogue between the aggressions of Armenia and Israel and says that the events in Kan is assessed as Khojali tragedy. The crimes of Israel in Near East are directed toward humanity.
The aggression of Israel against Lebanon caused mortality of more than thousand innocent people.
The action was held in a peaceful manner without interference of police. The participants of the meeting submitted the resolution of the meeting to the representatives of mass media.
