The agenda for the official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Latvia has been confirmed, the Press Secretary of the Latvian President Aiva Rozenberge told Trend.
The President of Azerbaijan will arrive in Riga on the evening of 3 October. An official welcoming ceremony for President Ilham Aliyev will be held at the Rijsk Palace on 4 October. One-to-one discussions will later be held between the Presidents and thereafter negotiations with the governmental delegations will take place.
A press conference will be held and the ceremony of signing bilateral documents agreements in the spheres of communications and information technologies, health, education, science, between finance ministries, as well as a joint declaration of the presidents. The itinerary also includes laying a wreath in front of the Freedom Monument, meetings with the Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament of Latvia, and visiting and presenting a speech at the Latvian State University and official reception in honor of the Azerbaijan President.
On October 5, the President of Latvia, Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev will participate in the joint business forum. Later the President of Azerbaijan will meet with the Mayor of Riga, visit the Museum of Occupation, take a short excursion along Riga and meet with the representatives of the Azerbaijani community.
