According to the State Statistics Committee, mass harvesting campaign is continuing in agriculture, while the collection of grains is complete. According to the State Statistics Committee, as of 1 September 2006, initial collection from 750,800h under grains made up 1,928,700, or productivity was 25.7 metric tons. Thus, including corns the country produces 1975,600 tons of grains, which is 1.4% or 28,200 tons more than 2006. The area sown under autumn and spring planting reduced by 17,900h as compared to last year.
In this period a total of 938,100 tons of vegetables (+4.3%) and 235,100 tons of fruits (+2%) have been harvested.
At the same time, the collection of other types of agriculture products reduced. Thus, the collection of potato made up 709,100 tons (-12.9%), melon and water melons - 314,900 tons (-3.6%), tobacco -2,700 tons (-35.7%), grapes - 20,400 tons (-7.3%).
As of 4 September 2006, cotton harvesting comprised 4,200 tons. Cotton is planted in the 21 regions of Azerbaijan, in particular Salyan-Mugan, Karabakh and Shirvan.

Sowing for 2007 has been set up. Stability was maintained in the sphere cattle-breeding. In this period, live stock made up 171,800 tons, or 1.8% more than the same period of last year, diary 885,900 tons (+4.1%), wool 12,900 tons (+1.8%). This period the agriculture sector produced 526.3m eggs, which is 13.3% does as compared to 2005.

Thus, as a result of January to August the agriculture product in the current prices comprised 1,197,3m manats, or 0.7% more than 2005. In this period planting production dropped 2.8%, while cattle breeding rose 1.9%. In general agrarian production increased 1.8%.
In August 2006 the production prices of agriculture goods fell 0.3% as compared to the previous month and but rose 10.2% - as compared to December 2005. According to the State Statistics Committee, in July the index of planting products made up 100.6% as compared to July. In this period the production prices of potato and fruits dropped 1.2% and o.9%. Prices of vegetables, melons and water melons and grains in the opposite dropped 1.2% and 0.9%.
Besides, index prices of cattle breeding products made up 98.6% as compared to the previous month. Thus, cattle prices went down 2.7%, while for live stock and eggs 0.2%. The prices of forestry products dropped 1.1%, fishery remained stable.
