Johanni Boucciqio, the Secretary General of the Venice Commission began talks with journalists in Baku on 9 November stating that the changes and supplements to the elections legislation of Azerbaijan will be discussed at a meeting of the Venice Commission to be held in Strasbourg shortly, Trend reports.
He noted that the Venice Commission closely co-operates with Azerbaijan on the issue of elections legislation. The elections legislation has improved and some changes have been injected, whereas work on some aspects still continues. In this respect we will shortly hold a meeting in Strasbourg with the participation of representatives from Azerbaijan. The gathering will center on necessary changes, including the composition of the elections,' Boucciqio stressed.
With respect to the formation of composition of the elections commissions he noted that the all opinions will be taken into consideration in this issue. We will try to preserve a balance in this issue. We should do much to help people to believe and trust in the commission, he stated.
