Amongst the Caucasus countries, Azerbaijan had the highest number of migrant entries into Russia, nearly 900,000 citizens annually. Georgia and Armenia followed with approximately 400,000,000-500,000. And for the number of illegal migrants, the citizens of Azerbaijan and Georgia differ amongst them, the Deputy Director of the Federal Migration Service of Russia, Vyacheslav Postavini, informed Trend Special Correspondent in Moscow.
He stressed that Georgia had the lowest number of legal and illegal working foreigners with nearly less than 1%. He underlined that approximately 400,000 Georgian citizens travel to Russia annually of which less than 5,000 have work permits. And the quota for foreigners to Russia next year will total 308,000, including Georgian citizens. Azerbaijan also sends many foreign migrants, Postavini stated.
Following up on the problems of illegal migrants, Postavini emphasized that mainly the illegal citizens travel from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Moldavia, Ukraine, followed by China, Turkey, Vietnam, India and other several countries.
