A mission of the International Monetary Fund (ICF), led by the Deputy Director of the Department for Middle East and Central Asia, Vitali Kramarenko, is expected to make a visit to Baku in the second half of the February.
The visit is aimed at holding a review on the article 4 of the Agreement on IMF, the Head of the IMF Bazel Zavoyka, informed Trend. He did not exclude the probability of discussing the future co-operation program with the Azerbaijani Government.
Irrespective of its form, our co-operation has always continued. Supporting the country with the credits of the Monetary Fund is not on the agenda because Azerbaijan possesses strong payment balance, Zavoyka said. At the same, time, the IMF is considering one option within the program We have not begun talks with the Azerbaijani Government within the program and I consider that it is still early because the country is coming to a new stage of the financial situation, Zavoyka said.
