Presentation of Russian Historian-Writer's Book About Azeri General Took Place in Heydar Aliyev Foundation

On December 8, the presentation of the book called Adjutant-General His Majesty. Story About Huseyn-Khan Nakchvanski written by the outstanding Russian historian, member of the Union of Writers and Union of Journalists of Russia, Professor Rudolf Ivanov took place in Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The ceremony was attended by the representatives of the scientific intelligentsia of Azerbaijan. The Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Anar Alekperov informed the guests on the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, directed towards various spheres of the education, health and culture. Mr. Alekperov reminded that one of the directions of the Fund is to assist in publishing literature propagating the history and culture of Azerbaijan. The Foundation has already published a collection Realities of Nagorno-Karabakh and prepares to publish the historical and cultural monuments that have been destroyed by the Armenians in occupied Azerbaijan territories.

According to Mr. Alekperov, the initiatives are implemented by the President of the Foundation, Good-Will Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO Mehriban Aliyeva. The Foundation has assisted in publishing the work of the outstanding Russian historian-writer Rudolf Ivanov in Azerbaijan. In the summer of this year, Ivanov's historical narrative Defense of Bayazit: realities and lies was published, and recently another work of the scientist-historian called Adjutant-General His Majesty. Story about Huseyn-Khan Nakchvanski was published in Moscow.

Rudolf Ivanov opened new words in the Russian historiography. His books are historical documentary chronicle and are very exact and objective. They are red with great interest and are works of art, said honorable journalist and member of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Elmira Akhundova. She made a speech in the presentation and mentioned the citizen position of the author and his courage and aspiration for understanding the reality. According to Akhundova, Ivanov is working on the historical work about other famous son of Azerbaijan Jamshid Nakhchvanski. Akhundova said that J.Nakhchvanski was one of the favorable historical personages of the ex-President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. Exactly in 1956, his rehabilitation took place in accordance with the application of Heydar Aliyev.

Akhundova highly assessed the importance of the book in bringing up the Azerbaijani youths in the spirit of patriotism and mentioned the importance of translating the book into Azeri language. The Head of the Russian Community in Azerbaijan, Member of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Mikhail Zabelin said that courage, honesty, devotion and good nature have been uncovered in the characters of the best sons of Azerbaijan in the books of Ivanov. He said that is was four characters of the Azerbaijan people. He said that it was pleasant that Russian historian writes about the realities about Azerbaijani sons. He said that 170,000 Russians live in Azerbaijan, and only 5,000-7,000 in the neighboring countries. These figures are the best indicators of the character of the Azeri people, he said.

Ivanov is the author of 23 books and nearly 200 articles, including the history of imperial Russia and Caucasus, as well as books dedicated to the history of the Caucasus peoples, heroic actions of the representatives of the Caucasus peoples and their role in defense and prosperity of the Russian Imperia. Ivanov expressed his gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva for assisting him in publishing his works.

At the end Ivanov said that Azeri people presented 5 generals and one marshal to the Russian Army and that they served Russia till they died, with great faith and fair.
