All-Caucasian Forum The Role of Heydar Aliyev in Strengthening & Developing Statehood of Azerbaijan & Georgia

The epithets such as the invaluable contribution to the revival and the development of not only the Azerbaijan State, but also of Georgia, as well as the development and the strengthening of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia have been sounded toward about Azerbaijan's All-Nation Leader and Ex-President, Heydar Aliyev during the All-Caucasian Forum The Role of Heydar Aliyev in Strengthening and Developing Statehood of Azerbaijan and Georgia organized by the Human Rights Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan today, on December 11, reports Trend.

The Forum was organized on the eve of the anniversary of the death of Heydar Aliyev. Prominent Georgian and Azerbaijani politicians and scientists participated in the event. The Forum was opened by Mahmoud Karimov, President of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. In his welcome speech, he praised the role of the All-Nation leader Heydar Aliyev in establishing and developing the statehood of Azerbaijan, as well as its economic prosperity. According to Mr. Karimov, Heydar Aliyev had a great influence on the policy of other countries in the region. He pointed out that it was Heydar Aliyev who supported the Georgian people in their stance for independence.

Rovshan Mustafayev, Dr of Political Sciences and Director of Human Rights Institute of Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, stated during the event, Today as we bow our heads to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the patriarch of the history of our days, we should remember the invaluable contribution he made in the revival and development of not only Azerbaijan but also of Georgia,

According to the political analyst, speaking of Heydar Aliyev's personality and following the Caucasian code of gratitude, the Georgian people, particularly their scientific elite think highly of the Azerbaijan All-Nation Leader, his invaluable role in protecting the Georgian State and their independence, as well as strengthening the Azerbaijani-Georgian relations.

Having stressed on the importance of the Forum, Mr. Mustafayev called it an All-Caucasian Forum, as it had united representatives of the political forces of South Caucasus, whose peace was threatened by some unfamiliar tribes for many thousands of years, Mr. Mustafayev expressed his gratitude to the participants of the Forum for their aim at consolidation. He also pointed out that it was time to restore the Caucasian Studies as a special scientific field. The decision to establish the Caucasian Comparative Research Centre within the Human Rights Institute of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences had been made with this in mind.

Participants also witnessed the speech by Georgian Ex-President, Eduard Shevarnadze. By his untiring work, Heydar Aliyev made an invaluable contribution to the development and strength of not only Azerbaijan but also Georgia. Having initiated and signed the Contract of the century in 1994, this great politician laid the foundation for the wall of friendship between our nations. And that has allowed Georgians to stand firm after 10 years of great hardship, the message of the Georgian Ex-President says. By his clear-sighted policy directed in favour of not only Azerbaijan but also of its sister Georgia, Heydar Aliyev has laid the foundation for the policy which Georgia has always felt and will feel in the future, stated Shevarnadze,

Prominent Georgian and Azerbaijani scientists and politicians gave speeches during the event, emphasizing Heydar Aliyev's intelligent and farsighted policy in the rebirth and prosperity of the whole region.
