The Chairman of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, Arif Valiyev, on December 15 said that 40% of the gross domestic products (GDP) in Azerbaijan is achieved at the expense of the production by the youths. The speech at the conference was dedicated to the role of the youths in the economical development of Azerbaijan.
According to him, 1/3 of the population of Azerbaijan is formed by the youths. According to him, in 2005, 141,900 children were born in Azerbaijan, with 129,304 in young families and 29,000 by women without marriage. In 2005 generally 71,600 marriages were registered in Azerbaijan, with 60% among youths. According to Valiyev more than 40% of divorces come to the share of the young families.
Presently 1,182 students are getting education abroad. They are representatives of the youths. 530,000 people in the country are engaged in the sport, and the number of the youths gaining medals in the international sport championships exceeds 200, Valiyev said.
