Mess with Azerbaijan-Georgian Border Prevents Development of Relations between Small and Medium Enterprises of Two Countries Azeri Ambassador
The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia, Namik Aliyev, protests against the self-will of the Georgian customs officials. The Ambassador said in the TV program Kapital of Mze TV Channel that it is the order prohibiting the automobiles coming from Azerbaijan to have more than 5 liters of benzene, Trend Special Correspondent reports.
I tried to make clear the source of this order, but I was officially told that there is no normative act regarding this issue. However, the secret order is implemented by the customs officials, and this issue dissatisfies the Azerbaijani business people, he said.
The Azerbaijan Ambassador underlined that such facts dissatisfy the representatives of the Azerbaijani small and medium enterprises, who want to work in Georgia. For instance, the business people are irritated by the fact that the train coming from Baku stays on the Azerbaijan-Georgian border for 5 hours, and within this time, the Georgian customs officials and frontier guards inspect them slowly, he said.
Aliyev considers that at the level of large businesses, the economic relations are developing in the necessary respect and take an investment character.
