The employee of the Press-Service of the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry, Ilgar Verdiyev, informed Trend that after the release of the Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mammadov, it will be possible to specify under which circumstance, he was taken as a prisoner.
Verdiyev said that the resident of Barda district of Azerbaijan, soldier Samir Mammadov had been drafted to the military service a year ago.
According to Verdiyev, negotiations are continuing with the Armenian side on returning the soldier to Azerbaijan. The International Committee of the Red Cross participates in the negotiations in this respect.
