Japanese Government Rendered Assistance in Equipping the State Library

The implementation of a next project realized at the expense of the Japanese Government completed, Trend reports.

The opening ceremony of a hall equipped with audio and video appliances has been held in the State Library Named after M. F. Akhundov. Tadahiro Abe, Japan Ambassador to Azerbaijan, said during the opening ceremony that the project was implemented within the programme of the Japanese Government Culture Grant Programme.

According to him, the agreement on the implementation of the project was signed between the Japanese Embassy to Azerbaijan and the State Library in September, 2005. The total cost of the project is $450.000. The Japanese diplomat said that up to date, 5 projects with the total budget of $1,49 has been implemented within this program in Azerbaijan. Within different programmes funded by the Japanese Government, up to date, Azerbaijan has received the aid at the amount of $718 mln.

Abulfaz Garayev, Azerbaijan Culture and Tourism Minister highly appreciated the aid of the Japanese Government to Azerbaijan, which encompassed different spheres of the economy, culture, and the social life of the country.

He expressed his confidence that further cooperation between the two countries will be successful.
