MP Yagub Makhmoudov: Missionaries Established a New Religious Network in Azerbaijan

MP, Yagub Mammadov, a scientist-historian, said during the meeting of the Milli Majlis that missionaries present in Azerbaijan established a new religious network, Trend reports.

He said that today Azerbaijan survives the processes that harm the state.

The Church of Kish located in Shaki District was reconstructed under the sponsorship of foreign organizations. At the same time, during reconstruction the temple, an inscription in the downer part of the Church was lost. The inscription is believed to be dated four thousand years BC. Different missions say that Baku is the capital of Christianity, and sometimes they even change the name of Baku, said Mr. Makhmoudov.

According to the Azerbaijani MP, a church was constructed on the ruins of the ancient Albanian monument. Missions are actively working at the North of the country. If we do not prevent it, that may trigger serious troubles to our country, said Mr. Makhmoudov.

To prevent such cases, the MP proposed to review Bill On Religious Freedom as well as make necessary amendments to it.
