Azeri Foreign Minister Will Hold Top level Negotiations in Kuwait  Azeri Ambassador

The Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kuwait, Shahin Abdullayev, exclusively informed Trend that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kuwait is in preparation of the official visit of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov, to Kuwait, scheduled for 20-21 January.

Abdullayev said that at present the programs and agendas of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister's meetings are being agreed upon. Mammadyarov is expected to hold meetings at a top level, especially with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Nasir al-Muhammad al-Ahmed al-Sabah, Chairman of the National Assembly, Jasem Muhammad al-Kharafi and heads of various ministries and state bodies.

The primary topic for negotiations will be the prospect of bilateral co-operation in many spheres. The parties will organize debates on subjects such as energy, economy, culture and humanitarianism. According to the Ambassador, a Protocol on consultations between the Foreign Ministries is expected to be signed by the Foreign Ministry of Kuwait as a result of negotiations.

Abdullayev said that it is the first official visit of the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister to Kuwait. Generally the diplomat positively assessed last year's results of Azerbaijani-Kuwaiti relations. In 2006 the Embassies began to function in both countries and mutual visits of the senior officials of the two countries took place. The Ambassador voiced his confidence that relations will continue to develop successfully next year.
