Exhibition of Azerbaijani Painter Took Place in Moscow

The exhibition of Azerbaijani painter and member of the Union of Painters of Russia, Gudrat Gurbanov, took place in the Central House of Painters in Moscow. The gallery Palettart was presented by the artist, along with a jubilee exhibition entitled Moscow-CHP-2007 which was the 50th jubilee of the painter, Trend Special Correspondent in Moscow reports. The event was organized by the Congress of the World Azerbaijanis and the Russian Congress of the Azerbaijanis through the support of the Russian Movement Our Russia. The general sponsorship of the event was made by the Azerbaijan International Bank of Moscow.

An honored cultural worker and one of the organizers of the event, Evgeni Khaylov, stated in his speech that Gurbanov is a painter who keeps the light of day in his hands. Gurbanov's works appear as a tour of a beautiful tale. Gurbanov was born in Azerbaijan, but lived and worked in Turkey. Presently he gets his inspiration from Russia and Azerbaijan and we see the success of his art here and abroad.

Touching upon the presence of the national Azerbaijan motives in his works, the artist stated in an exclusive interview with Trend that all of his works are related to Azerbaijan. I have a picture of horse drawn carriage and I remember Baku National Park and other places while looking at that picture, he said. With regards to the national topics such as wars, Nagorno-Karabakh, etc., in his works, the painter stressed that I am not interested in war, I do not fight.

I am a painter. I love life. I love women. I love beauty. I create works. I am not interested in politics. I try to spread love through my works. Everybody needs to respect and love each other irrespective of their nationality, religion, culture, etc. It is possible to return Karabakh through love and optimism, he said.

Entitling his paintings Orange table and Hammock, Gurbanov stressed that he wishes to draw a picture of the Khudaferin Bridge, currently in the occupied area, when visiting there after the return of Azerbaijani lands. I very much want the people of North and South Azerbaijan to live together. I think that it is the desire of each Azerbaijani, we hope that it will be realised soon, Gurbanov added.
