Ilgar Verdiyev, an Officer of the Press Service of the Azerbaijan Defence Ministry, has informed Trend that 90 Azerbaijani peacekeepers have returned to Azerbaijan after completing their military service in Iraq.
On 5 January, 2007, another 90 Azerbaijani soldiers departed for Iraq to substitute the soldiers who completed their military service with the International Peacemaking Forces.
Azerbaijani peacekeepers are protecting a hydro-electric power station in the Iraqi Town of Al-Khadeet-Kha which provides 50% of electric power to Baghdad and 30% to Iraq.
