Maharram Aliyev, the Chief of the Baku Central Police Department, said during the operative meeting of the Central Police Department of the Capital that totally 200 criminal groups were disclosed in 2006. The meeting held was dedicated to taking measures to guarantee public order, Trend reports.
He said that banning the appearance and activity of criminal groups is one of the key measures to be taken. It is obviously known that Georgian thefts engaged in burglary have had plans to settle in Baku for the recent 2-3 years. Even their actions remained uncovered for a long time. However, our joint activity with other security bodies on neutralizing criminal groups formed by Georgian citizens has brought its positive results, said Mr. Aliyev.
