During the tragic events on January 20, 1990, the Azeri people put a trace in fighting against hegemony for the freedom and independence of the Muslim peoples in 20th century, said the statement of the Embassy of Iran to Azerbaijan in regards to the 17th anniversary of the 20 January Tragedy, Trend reports. The statement says that during those events, Muslim people of Iran were solid with the Azeri people. Presenting its condolences to the State and people of Azerbaijan, the Embassy of Iran expresses its respect for the memory of martyrs.
