MP Rafael Husseynov: CE Secretary General Once More Said that CE Acknowledge Azerbaijan's Territorial Integrity

Terry Davis, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CE), has made a report today, on January 22 (the first day of the work of the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), MP Rafael Husseynov, a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE told Trend.

As Mr. Husseynov said that Mr. Davis began answering questions after he completed his report.

Moreover, Rene Van der Linden, the President of PACE, gave a press-conference in Strasburg on January 22. In their speeches, Mr. Davis and Mr. Linden paid particular attention to Azerbaijan, its territorial integrity, and the Armenian aggression. Words pronounced by Mr. Davis were particularly significant. He emphasized that the territorial integrity of the country was an important condition, and the inviolability of frontiers was an essential principle. The CE Secretary General said that CE member-states should respect the territorial integrity and the inviolability of frontiers of one another, said Mr. Husseynov.

According to Mr. Husseynov, Mr. Davis once more proved that CE acknowledged the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The CE Secretary General claimed that this principle might be changed only if U. N. would make another decision connected with the territorial integrity and accepted frontiers. In other words, all the states exists within the frontiers and territories acknowledged by U.N. Mr. Davis once more stated that he did not admit separatism and opposed all its forms, concluded Mr. Husseynov.
