Р'Р Azerbaijan has suspoended the gas production from Azerbaijan offshore gas condensate field, Shahdaniz due to troubles occured on the first exploratory well, Trendreports referring to its own information sources.
Р'Р Azerbaijan has completed pouring grout into the first pre-drilling well, where some troubles earlier occurred. The gas production on the field was suspended due to some technical troubles.
A gas escape was detected at the depth of 800-900 meters on the first pre-drilling well on Shahdaniz Field.
According to the sources, gas flows are currently felt in the well. The following alternatives: repeat pouring grout, installing a special block patch or raising the column are being considered now to solve the troubles occurred, the sources said.
The Company is expected to launch the second pre-drilling well at the end of February, 2007 вЂ" beginning of March, 2007.
Work on joining it to launch the gas production is still underway, experts say.
The gas production from the first well was launched on December 15, 2006. The daily gas production rate was 5,6 mln.cubic meters of gas and 2,500 tons of gas condensate.
Some 8,6 bln. cubic meters of gas are expected to be produced on the stage of plateau within Stage 1 of the development of Shahdaniz field. 5,4-5,6 bln. cubic meters are expected to be produced from the field in 2007.
