A member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), MP Ganira Pashayeva, informed Trend that one of her written requests submitted to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has been published and distributed amongst the deputies.
According to her, the document related to the illegal placement of the Armenian Armed Forces in the occupied Azerbaijani lands. The document states that Armenia has broken the principles of the Agreement on ordinary armed forces in Europe, a Viennese document on measures on strengthening confidence and security and international obligations of Armenia, received $1-bln arms from Russia and placed them in occupied Azerbaijani lands.
It imposes serious threats for peace and security in the South Caucasus. The means of control on arms in Europe is not applied to the occupied Azerbaijani lands. It leads to the creation of a grey zone in the region. Armenia hides the arms in occupied territories, violates the international treaty on control and imposes threats to the region and Europe, mentions the document.
Pashayeva asks what steps the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe may take to prevent illegal actions of Armenia, what work is being done to monitor the occupied Azerbaijani territories and why the pressure is not applied to Armenia, which has not fulfilled PACE Resolution No. 1416.
