The EU Commissar on Energy, Andres Pelbalgs, said at the meeting with the Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev, that the European Union supports the processes and reforms in Azerbaijan in the political, economical and other spheres, Trend reports.
According to him, the EU attaches a great importance to the co-operation with Azerbaijan. The Commissar called as historical event the signing of the Memorandum on Strategic Partnership between Azerbaijan and European Union in November 2006 in Brussels, adding that the policy implemented in Azerbaijan creates possibilities for the leadership in the region.
The meeting mentioned the successful integration of Azerbaijan to the European Union.
