We are not willing to open borders with Armenia. The Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Igdir Province, Turkey, Kemal Arslan, stated in a meeting with representatives of Azerbaijan's leading media outlets, Trend reports
The businessmen of Igdir do not want the border to open, first of all due to occupation of 20% of the Azerbaijani territory by Armenia. Furthermore, Armenia has territorial claims on Turkey and does not recognize its territory. This country groundlessly demands the recognition of the so-called Armenian genocide' during the Ottoman Empire. He stressed that the border can only be opened after the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territory of Azerbaijan, recognition of the state border of Turkey and refusal from the groundless claims in connection with the so-called genocide'. In the present circumstances we are unwilling to open the border, Mr. Arslan reiterated.
