State Water Company Inks Agreement on Construction of Oguz-Gabala-Baku pipeline

On 31 January 2007 Azersu joint stock company and Turan Hazinedaroglu-Tekser Inshaat Sanayi-Gence Korpu Tikinti2 Alliance signed an agreement on designing and construction of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water supply pipeline, Trend reports. The document was signed by Azersu Company Head, Nizameddin Rzayev, and a representative of the Alliance, Turan Khazinadaroglu. In 2006 the project was estimated to 480mln manats. Some 183.62mln manats was allocated out of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAR) budget for 2007. The construction work valued at $142.1mln will take 14 months to complete. In 2006 some 82.7mln manats will be spent on the project including 2.4mln manats to be allocated for the development of a feasibility study and initial design projects by CES Consulting Engineers and 82.3mln manats вЂ" Azkompozit in December 2006. The exploitation reserve of underground water in this zone comprises over 15 cu m per second. Quality of water is high and meets the world standards. The 260km-long water supply pipeline will run from the water reservoir in Oguz-Gabala via the territory of Charkhana-Goychay-Agsu-Udullu.
