Head of UN Baku Office Says Significant Number of Refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan Most Brutal Violation of Human Rights

Marco Borsotti, the Head of UN Baku Office, has said today that the fact that Azerbaijan has a significant number of refugees and IDPs is the most brutal violation of human rights. Notably, the UN Resident-Coordinator is completing his term in Azerbaijan.

According to him, this violation is observed in state offices, where officials violate citizen's rights.

We do not believe that the clarification and elimination of violation of human rights is the activity of third party organizations. The Government itself should solve this issue, considers Mr. Borsotti.

Furthermore, according to him, the foundation of the institute of ombudsperson in Azerbaijan plays an important role in this issue.
