Head of U.N. Baku Office Divided Organization Activities in Several Categories

The Head of the U.N. Baku Office, Marco Borsoti, said that the primary projects implemented by the United Nations Organization in Azerbaijan were directed towards reducing the level of the poverty in the country, Trend reports. In addition, the UNO carried out works with regards to the pension fund and amendments and annexes to the Labor Code of Azerbaijan.

Moreover, the UNO actively participated in the IT development. Innovative information technologies have been created in the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, in the

Presidential Administration, as well as work has been carried out to create an opportunity to use the information technologies. The UNO has closely co-operated with the Ministry of Ecology to take a number of measures to strengthen the ecological co-operation between the countries of the Caspian region. Borsoti said that when he arrived in Azerbaijan, there was a serious problem with the bank of blood. However, the UNO, in co-operation with the Government of Norway, announced a new system which guarantees the security and non-infection of the blood on the territory of Azerbaijan.

Further, work has been implemented in the sphere of the state management, and the UNO reached an agreement with the Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan on reforms which mitigate the registration procedure at the Ministry.
