19 Facts on Violating State Boundaries Revealed in Azerbaijan in January, 2007

Employees and officers of the State Frontier Service of Azerbaijan revealed 19 facts on violation of the state boundaries in January, 2007, a source in the Press-Service of the State Frontier Service informed Trend.

In result of the measures taken, 21 citizens of Iran, 8 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 citizens of Pakistan, 3 citizens of Iraq, 2 citizens of Nigeria, 2 citizens of Georgia, one citizen from Russia, Turkey, and Afghanistan were captured.

As a result of the fight with the illegal drug trafficking and trade, 2 kg 950 grams of marijuana and 16 grams of opium were seized.

Use of false passports to cross the boundaries: 10 Iranian citizens, 3 Iraqi citizens, 2 Nigerian citizens were arrested. 33 people were detained due to the lack of visas. Ten boats broke the water frontier regime, and 21 people were found when they illegally fished in the Azerbaijan waters.
