Government of Pakistan Presents to Azerbaijan Several Proposals on Economic Co-operation Development

The Economic Advisor of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Pakistan, Sabir Rzayev, exclusively informed Trend that during the present meeting of the Azerbaijani-Pakistani Intergovernmental Economic Co-operation Commission, the Pakistani side presented to Azerbaijan a number of proposals on development of economic co-operation. According to him, the agenda included co-operation in regards to investments and small and medium enterprises. The Pakistani side made a series of proposals to create a Business Council and the project of Memorandum of Understanding was presented.

In addition, the sides held consultations on IT, particularly discussed the question of decreasing tariffs for international telephone conversations. Debates were organized on co-operation in areas such as agriculture and the banking sector and the Pakistani side offered to organize courses in raising the qualifications of the banking sector, Rzayev said.

The meeting of the Commission with the participation of co-chairs, First Vice Primer of the Government of Azerbaijan, Yagub Eyyubov and Minister of Oil and Natural Resources of Pakistan, Amanulla Khan Jadun, will take place on February 7th. In addition, there are plans to hold meetings with various ministers included in the Commission from both countries.
