Goran Lenmarker, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE, Rapporteur of the Organization for the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, is expected to arrive in Azerbaijan tomorrow, on February 7th. He will hold a number of meetings in Baku on February 8th and 9th, a source at the International Relations Department of the Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) told Trend.
The visit of Mr. Lenmarker is expected to last three days.
During the forthcoming visit, the Chairman of PA OSCE will meet Ogtay Asadov, Azerbaijan's Speaker, Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, members of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE and some members of the Permanent Committee for International and Interparliamentary Relations of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev is expected to receive Mr. Lenmarker as well.
In addition, Mr. Lenmarker will visit the Baku State University where he will participate in a seminar. After he presents a new project at the University, he will deliver a speech to teachers and students of the Educational Institute.
In addition to Mr. Lenmarkers' being the Chairman of PA OSCE, he is the Rapporteur of the Organization for Nagorno-Karabakh, therefore, the situation over the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will mainly be discussed.
The OSCE Baku Office will organize a meeting between the Chairman of PA OSCE and representatives of NGOs and other public agencies working in the country.
Notably, the visit of Mr. Lenmarker to South Caucasus started on February 4. First he visited Armenia, where he held negotiations with the leadership of this country. During his meetings there, the situation over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was mainly discussed.
Mr. Lenmarker is currently visiting Georgia. He will discuss the situation over the resolution over the Abkhazian and South-Ossetian conflicts with the leadership of this country.
