Turkish Prime Minister: Turkey Will Not Open Boundaries with Occupant-Armenia Until Armenian-Azerbaijan Conflict Resolved

Receb Tayyib Erdogan, Turkey Prime-Minister, received Azerbaijan Defense Minister, Safar Abiyev, and said that Turkey will not open its boundaries with occupant Armenia, a source in the Press-Service of the Azerbaijan Defense Office informed Trend.

We have always been close to Azerbaijan, and it will be forever. We should support each other. Turkey will keep on its constant cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of defense like in other fields, said the Turkish Prime-Minister.

The message of the Press-Service says that during his two-day official visit to Turkey (February 5-6), the Azerbaijan Defense Minister met Yashar Beyukkanit, the Chief of the Turkish General Staff. The parties discussed the situation with the Azerbaijan-Turkish military and defense cooperation and their further perspectives.

Mr. Abiyev submitted a draft agreement on military and defense cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey to Mr. Beyukkanit.

The Azerbaijan Defense Minister met Vejdi Kenul, Turkey Defense Minister, and Ahmad Nedjat Sezer, Turkey President. He marked the importance on the construction and putting into operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline (BTC), Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum Gas Pipeline, and railway project Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku. The Azerbaijan Defense Minister invited his Turkish counterpart to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.
