Chairman of PA OSCE Hopes for Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict to Be Resolved till the End of 2007

Goran Lenmarker, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE, Rapporteur of the Organization for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, informed journalists that he hopes that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will be resolved till the end of the year, Trend reports.

He said that it was necessary to achieve peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the immediate future.

I think that the peace between the two conflict parties may be attained after the parliamentary elections in Armenia. We do not want even one person die because of the conflict, said the Chairman of PA OSCE. According to him, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries should solve issues over the people joint dwelling in Nagorno-Karabakh.

It should be taken into consideration that Azerbaijan and Armenia are neighboring countries. I think that both parties will realize the importance of reaching an agreement, said Mr. Lenmarker.

Within his visit to Azerbaijan, the Chairman of PA OSCE visited and laid flowers on the grave of the Ex-President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor. Then he visited and laid flowers on the Martyrs' Alley.

Mr. Lenmarker met members of the Azerbaijan delegation to PA OSCE. He held a meeting with Ogtay Asadov, Azerbaijan Speaker. Their meeting is currently going on.
