The Head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Goran Lennmarker, met with the representatives of NGOs and civil society of Azerbaijan in Baku on February 9, 2007. After the meeting, Lennmarker said that the meeting focused on the elections, human rights and democracy, Trend reports. He said that his visit to Azerbaijan was interesting and he had an opportunity to get familiarized with the situation in place.
Commenting on his visit to Armenia, Lennmarker said that it was also important to assess the situation in both countries. He justified the absence of the meeting with the president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, since Kocharyan was not in the country.
