Chairman of State Committee: Coordination Council of Azerbaijan and Turkish Diasporas to Be Founded in Forthcoming Forum

Nazim Ibrahimov, the Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad, said during the today press-conference that the Coordination Council of the Azerbaijan and Turkish Diasporas is expected to be founded in the First Forum of the Leaders of Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora Organizations to be held in Baku on March 9, 2007.

He said that Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime-Minister, Receb Tayyib Erdogan will take part in the forthcoming event and give their speeches to participants of the First Forum.

Azerbaijan and Turkish officials, representatives of the Azerbaijan and Turkish Diasporas and communities living abroad, representatives of other Turkic language nations are expected to take part in the forthcoming arrangement.

The Forum will gather 450 delegates from 48 countries. Known social and political and state figures are expected to be invited to take part in the forthcoming event. There will be 150 such guests.

The Strategy of the Joint Activity between the Azerbaijan and Turkish Diasporas will be adopted in the forthcoming Forum. According to Mr. Ibrahimov, corresponding work is being carried out together with corresponding state offices and agencies of Azerbaijan and Turkey due to the document to be signed.

This document will be an ideological one to ensure the activity of the both Diasporas. Azerbaijan and Turkey is one nation, but two states, therefore the one nation should not have two Diasporas. Then, one force will join to another one, and in order to protect our interests, we should turn form the tactics of attacks to information war, said Mr. Ibrahimov.
